According to us, and many others, the Algarve coast offers some of the world’s best asphalt roads During 5 days (3 riding days) we have full focus on amazing riding in a magnificent environment among cork oaks and orange groves. We ride in green valleys and over airy mountains with fantastic views of the Atlantic. We ride curvy roads of all imaginable sizes and shapes. All the time you are guided by our experienced and certified tour guides.
This tour is suitable for everyone – regardless of prior skills and it is also possible to bring passengers along. We mix riding with feedback from instructor that makes you a better and safer rider. We split into several groups so you can ride at your own pace at all times. Of course we ride the new BMW R1300 GS.
The Algarve coast’s 300 sunny days offer us the best possible weather. When the tours are arranged, the daytime temperature is normally between 20-25 degrees and the sun usually shines from clear blue skies. Perfect temperature for riding motorcycles, in other words.

The main focus during this trip is the driving experience, and the roads we drive on are varied. We ride everything from larger curvy roads where you can stretch out, to a few minutes later entering narrow curvy roads among orange groves and cork oaks. We climb on smaller roads along the mountain ranges and ride through narrow eucalyptus valleys. We pass cozy villages and stop at some of our favourite cafes for a coffee. We have chosen the curviest roads with the best asphalt quality. During this tour we ride 100% asphalt, and it is possible to ride with passengers for those who wish.
We split into several groups depending on prior skills and wishes. We ride manly the same roads but different distances. During the days, you have several opportunities to change groups if you wish. The tour is led by BMW Motorrad Certified Tourguide.
During the entire tour we stay at the newly built White Shell Beach Villas within walking distance to the fantastic beaches of Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha & Praia Nova.
White Shell is top class in both food and accommodation. Would you bring a partner who doesn’t ride a motorcycle along for one or more days, White Shell and its surroundings are a fantastic place to simply be, stroll along the beaches, visit the spa facility, or just relax on the patio of your own Beach Villa.
We reside in beautiful apartments/suites. Here, you’ll find all facilities such as a full kitchen, microwave, espresso machine, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, large TV, shower, AC, and free (and fast!) WiFi. In addition to the jacuzzi, spa facility, gym, and paddle tennis court at the resort, there are many different activities nearby, such as water sports, boat cave tours, horseback riding, golf, bike rentals, shopping & bars, and fantastic beach walks along the beautiful Algarve coastline. In short, a fantastic place even for those who don’t ride motorcycles.
For dinner, we either dine at White Shell’s award-winning restaurant or at one of the many cozy restaurants nearby. We have lunch at our favorite restaurants in the villages we pass during the day.

If you arrive early on this day, we recommend exploring the beautiful beaches just below the resort. You will also find supermarkets and several restaurants within walking distance. In the evening, we have a communal dinner and go through the itinerary for the trip.
We gather in the morning and start with a presentation of ourselves and the motorcycles. The start of the day involves riding on slightly larger roads towards Cabo de São Vicente, at the southwestern tip of Europe, also known as the end of the world. From here, it’s 6 000 km of open, clear blue sea to America. Throughout the remainder of the day, the roads become more winding and the riding more engaging with each km.
Along the way, we make a couple of shorter stops to go over basic safety and driving techniques, such as lane choice and braking.
We head towards the picturesque village of Marmelete and further up towards Monchique, where we almost meet ourselves in the curves. From the top of Foia (902 meters above sea level), we have a fantastic view of Portugal’s south and west coasts. We roll downhill through cork oak plantations and stork colonies before reaching our hotel by the sea again.
Today, we initially head northeast. Here, we find some of our absolute favorites on the Algarve coast and the well-known Estrada Nacional 2 or ‘N2’ among motorcycle enthusiasts, with its hundreds of smooth curves that will undoubtedly put a smile on your face while riding the R1300 GS!
We head back westward at high altitude with fantastic views over the Serra de Monchique, where we were at the top the day before. We make our way southward via the Rota da Laranja or ‘The Orange Route,’ lined with orange groves and plenty of sun-ripened oranges.
The day that has given the journey its name. We start the morning with a few miles of straighter, yet beautiful roads through smaller villages to the east. Just before the first coffee break, the curves start to become more pronounced, and it’s only going to get better – provided you enjoy curves, that is!
A truly active day from morning till evening, featuring our absolute favorites in terms of curves, asphalt quality, and the magnificent views over the South Coast!
Time flies when you’re having fun, and the adventure comes to an end for this time. For some, it’s an early transfer to the airport, while others have the opportunity to enjoy the resort’s facilities and soak up some sun under the clear blue sky before it’s time to catch the flight home. Fortunately, there are more trips to join, so hopefully it won’t be too long until we meet again!
