Adventure Days

SÄFSEN  Sweden, september 23-26, 2021

  • If you book a Rider Training, Adventure Tour or Adventure Days that is canceled due to COVID-19, you will always be able to choose between re-booking or getting a full refund!

Already in 2009, we arranged Adventure Days together with BMW Motorrad for the very first time. Since then, it has become an annual event where hundreds of adventure motorcyclists gather and explore wonderful gravel roads together. No matter what kind of motorcycle* you ride, you are welcome to Adventure Days, but it should be offroad/adventure model and you should not be afraid to get it dusty or dirty. Whatever your skills of gravel riding do not matter, we have everything from easy, relaxed tours to technical more demanding  faster tours. Adventure Days are for everyone! We stay in cozy log cabins at Säfsen Resort and eat delicious food throughout the event.

*The event is open to all types of motorcycles, with the exception for lightweight motorcycles designed for sports enduro, such as KTM EXC, Yamaha WR, Honda CR, Husaberg TE and other.

Guided gravel tours

During Adventure Days we offer guided morning tours and afternoon tours. The tours are about 3,5 hours long, but the riding time can, of course, vary depending on the road conditions and the participants’ experience. The booking of tours takes place online and the link to the booking is sent out about 4 weeks before the event to all participants. You have 3 different difficulty levels to choose from:

These tours are for you who are relatively new to gravel or simply like to take it a little easy and wants to enjoy the views both during the ride and at the stops. Goes primarily on easy riding gravel roads, but also some exciting forest roads are passed. These tours can be ridden with regular asphalt tires, although gravel tires are a recommendation. If you are an experienced rider, you can also bring passengers on these tours.

These tours are for those who want a more technical ride, but still at a an easier pace and time to breathe and enjoy the view at the stops. We ride on exciting gravel and forest roads and pass one and the other challenge where we together help each and other to get over / through. During these tours, gravel tires are a very strong recommendation, especially during rain. If you are an experienced rider and have experience of  riding on gravel / offroad with a passenger, you can also bring a passenger on this tour.

Basically the same tours as Advanced Scenic but slightly longer. Here we take no time for anything other than riding. Higher pace, shorter stops, and a few more challenges are on the schedule for these tours. Gravel tires are a requirement and on these tours and we ride without passengers.

All our tour guides are trained to give you tips and advice during the tours. On some occasions during the BASIC/SCENIC tours, we stop and talk about eg. where to look, track selection & riding position. This is for you to become a better, and most importantly, safer rider during Adventure Days.

Keep in mind to never ever ride over your own limit, it´s you who decide how fast you should ride, not the one behind or in front! We ride with rotation (corner man) which means that someone always show the way in the next crossing. There is no competition, all is about adventure riding. On the straight bits, we always slow down the pace to gather the group.

Be sure to bring water with you at all times and some snacks to eat at the stop. It is also our strongest recommendation that you bring your cell phone and a first-aid kit.

Approximately 4 weeks before the event everyone who booked and made the final payment will receive a link to our online booking. Here you book all tours and rider training during the event.

Rider training & GS EXPERIENCE

During Adventure Days you have a unique opportunity to get to know BMW’s latest GS models and to test them in a way like never before! Then our instructors take you for a test ride on roads of the varying quality, trough water & mud and over logs & stones so you can test the motorcycles properly!

Before or after the GS EXPERIENCE (depending on the group), the rider training applies. Here you ride your own motorcycle and choose the difficulty level yourself:

This is included in BASIC

  • Motorcycle settings & standing rider position
  • Offroad steering & cornering
  • Emergency braking with rear & front brake

This is included in ADVANCED

FAQ, facts & statistics

Here you get answers of the most common questions about Adventure Days. You will also find some facts and statistics that we collected since the start of the event in 2009. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact us!

You must not have been riding on gravel at all! We have tours in all levels of difficulty and Adventure Days is adapted for everyone, from beginners to advanced riders. Below are some statistics:

  • About 20% of the participants have “little or no” gravel experience
  • Approximately 30% of participants are “active and experienced” gravel riders
  • About 50% have been “riding  some gravel but not so actively”

Absolutely not! About 40% of the participants at the Adventure Days ride BMW, the rest ride KTM, Honda, Triumph, Yamaha, Ducati, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc.

Adventure Days is open to all motorcycles, regardless of brand and model, with the exception of light bikes made for sports enduro, as for example KTM EXC, Yamaha WR, Honda CR, Husaberg TE, and equivalent. The best-suited bikes, on the other hand, are BMW GS, KTM Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré, Triumph Tiger, Honda Africa Twin, and similar. It is for these type of motorcycles that the tours are customized.

Absolutely! About half of the participants at Adventure Days book and go there on their own. So even if you don’t have someone to ride gravel with or if your friends can’t go you are warmly welcome! You will get lots of new riding buddies on site.

Gravel tires are always recommended. We prefer Continental TKC 80, Metzeler Karoo 3, Michelin Anakee Wild, Pirelli Scorpion Rally and the like. The easier tours can be ridden on asphalt tires, but if it rains, it will be quite slippery.

Unfortunately not. However, we will help you repair the tires if you run a flat.

Approximately 4 weeks before the event, you who made the final payment, will receive a link to our online booking. Here you´ll book all tours and rider training’s during the event.

In the booking there is a box for this particular request. Enter the name and city of the persons you want to share with and we will put you in the same cabins. If you are more than what can fit in a cabin, we put you in cabins next to each other.

The Answer is yes! In the booking, this is available as an option and there is also the price. The price includes accommodation between Wednesday and Thursday, in the same cabin that you stay in during the continued event, as well as breakfast Thursday morning. Dinner Wednesday evening is not included but the restaurant is open.
